In this 3 part series, I will be recounting the story of how I went from a viciously perpetuating MOOC binge watching loop to building a product that has 1500+ downloads on the Play Store & reached 1400 monthly active users during exam season. I do sincerely hope you enjoy it. Also, if you are interested, here is a link to the app landing page: https://snapstudy.netlify.app/

December 2020 — The Build-Up

Key takeaways:

  • MOOC’s great, but in order to really push yourself and apply your knowledge, you must build products, not portfolio projects that are of no use to anyone and have no documentation because only you can use it.
  • Just because you don’t know a language/domain, don’t be afraid to go for it. You have the largest library in the world, free, at your disposal — the internet!
  • Don’t think “I’ll do it later”. Think “Now is the time”
